By participating in the following survey, you will help to develop and protect a healthy music industry in Vancouver and the province of BC – the third largest music sector in Canada. We want to not only make sure we identify the challenges and opportunities you face, but also consider what common goals can be reached in support of a sustainable music industry for all.
If you start a questionnaire you can come back to it at any time on the same device on which it was started.
We need your help to shape the future direction and priorities in building a vibrant music sector in Vancouver and BC. Thank you in advance for your time and participation!
About Your Data
Please note that all information will remain private and confidential. Individual responses will only be viewed by the 3rd party firms Nordicity and Sound Diplomacy, and funder Creative BC in order to build an ongoing sector profile, and measure and tell the story of the growth of BC’s music industry. While the survey is on-going the data will be stored on Voxco's Canadian-based servers (using at least TLS 1.1 encryption protocols).

Hide the details
The findings from this survey will support two concurrent studies:
Study 1 – Music Canada Live: Economic Impact Assessment of BC’s Live Music Sector
This provincial study – conducted by Music Canada Live and Nordicity – will focus on
BC’s live music sector
and develop an in-depth profiling of its economic impact in relation to the operation of live music companies, as well as live-music generated tourism in BC. The study will also make key recommendations for the future development of the sector.
The Economic Impact Assessment of BC’s Live Music Sector is made possible through support from Music Canada Live, Music BC, Creative BC, and the City of Vancouver.
Study 2 – City of Vancouver: Music Ecosystem Study
As part of the Vancouver Music City Initiative, a partnership was formed between the City of Vancouver, Music BC and a working group of music industry professionals to examine the Vancouver music ecosystem (including infrastructure) and analyze its strengths, weaknesses and gaps. A music ecosystem audit and inventory – conducted by Sound Diplomacy – will assess Vancouver’s ability to develop musicians, business and other stakeholders, and identify what requires addressing.
The City of Vancouver study will also determine the sector’s economic impact (both direct, indirect), which will be used in tandem with the provincial study in order to further shared goals and objectives in Vancouver and British Colombia.
The Music Ecosystem Study is made possible through the support from FACTOR, Creative BC, the City of Vancouver and Music BC.
