Canadian Kids Television, Digital Media, and Animation Survey 2018
Children's content matters:
Canadian Media Producers Association
(CMPA) has engaged
to create a research report on the state of the Canadian Kids audiovisual content production sectors in 2017. Study partners include the Association québécoise de la production médiatique (AQPM), Canada Media Fund (CMF), Shaw Rocket Fund, and the Youth Media Alliance (YMA).
About the study:
Canada’s kids and animation producers are a significant contributor to the media industry. As there have been many changes since the CMPA last led a study into this important production sector, this project is intended to update a similar report that Nordicity conducted on behalf of CMPA in 2009 (The Case for Kids Programming - Children and Youth's Screen-based Production in Canada). In this iteration of the study, we will be:
Updating research on the economic and social benefits of kids production and content;
Analyzing the consumption of Canadian kids content;
Exploring trends in distribution and financing (e.g., exports, coproductions, IP ownership); and,
Examining the effect of recent policy decisions on kids producers.
Your participation in the survey:
Through this survey we will collect information on your company’s kids content production and supporting operations to help inform the study. In order to streamline this survey, Nordicity will be leveraging data and sources that contribute to CMPA's annual
. We will only ask questions that are necessary to complete the research for this engagement.
Your company's responses to this survey will be kept strictly confidential. We will only report on this information in aggregate at the national level. All reporting will be reviewed to ensure that the responses of any respondent cannot be identified from the reported figures.
Thank you for your time and support for this important research!
